Are you a creative person? Do you enjoy doing craft projects in your spare time? If so, do you scrapbook? If not, this is a hobby you may want to closely examine. A scrapbook is a unique way to transform your treasured memories into so much more than just a traditional photograph. Not only that, but scrapbooks make great gifts.
When it comes to scrapbooking, you will find that any occasion can be documented. A scrapbook can have as little as three pages, but as many as three hundred. For that reason, there are many special occasions that you can and should scrapbook, a few of which are outlined below.
1 – Weddings
A wedding is the turning point in the life of a couple. It is one of the most widely celebrated occasions of a lifetime. At a wedding, you will find many picture perfect moments, including the couple’s first dance, the cutting of the cake, and the walk down the aisle.
If you are family member or a close friend of the bride or groom, bring your camera. Snap away and in the days following the wedding create a scrapbook. Remember, a scrapbook makes a great gift, which you can give to the couple after they return from their honeymoon.
2 – Anniversaries
Anniversaries are another must scrapbook occasion. What is nice about this special event is that you have many options. Are you married? If so, you can create a scrapbook to document the relationship with your spouse for your own personal enjoyment or to pass down to your children. You have the option of documenting special events, such as family vacations or highlights of yearly anniversary celebrations.
In keeping with anniversaries, are you the child of a couple who is celebrating a milestone anniversary, such as the 25th or 50th year? If so, the perfect gift is a scrapbook. Collect photographs of your parents. Since many of these photographs may be old and true treasures, do not just start cutting. Instead, order duplicates or scan those photographs for at-home printing. A scrapbooking documenting the love and relationship of your parents makes for the perfect gift.
3 – New Baby
Are you a new parent? If so, you will find that their entire life is filled with must document moments. It is, however, the first year that is the most special. This is particularly true for new parents. As a proud parent, you will likely take hundreds of photographs of your new baby. Turn those photographs into a scrapbook. It can be treasured by you and then passed down to your child.
4 – Child’s Life
As previously stated, children will reach many milestones throughout their life. If you want to document more than just your child’s first year, you can do so. Throughout the years, you will likely take thousands of pictures. Due to size, it may be best to stick with large milestones. These may include first haircut, first day of school, making the honor role, learning to drive, or playing sports. You can conclude your scrapbook with your child’s high school graduation. In fact, this is the perfect time to pass that scrapbook onto them.
5 – Graduation
Whether it be a high school graduation or a college graduation, this is an important milestone, as well as a great opportunity to make a scrapbook. Graduations are filled with wonderful events, including awards ceremonies, diploma acceptance ceremonies, parties, and much more. Whether you are a parent, a close friend, or another family member, grab the camera and take pictures. Later, create a small scrapbook to present to the new graduate.
The five above mentioned occasions are commonly referred to as must scrapbook occasions. With that said, you do not need a special occasion to create a scrapbook. Whether you enjoy arts and crafts or just want to do something with the hundreds of photographs you have stored in a box, a scrapbook is the perfect answer.
