Have you wanted to scrapbook yourself for some time now but just can’t figure out where to begin? You may have wondered repeatedly if you have enough about you to create a scrapbook. In response to that, yes, there is!
Even if your life hasn’t been filled with foreign trips or grand adventures, there’s still plenty to work with. Here are a few tips to help you scrapbook yourself.
First, take some time to jot down your fondest memories through the years. You may want to break this down into groups like your earliest memories through twelve, then your teen years, college and early adulthood and so on.
This will not only make it easier for you to collect your thoughts, but will also help you organize your scrapbook, too.
Next, gather together your photos and any memorabilia that you want to include. Remember, even those awkward childhood photos will make good additions to your scrapbook.
You may look to your mother or grandmother for memorabilia you can add from your early childhood. You can also add copies of your high school and college diplomas, graduation announcements and special invitations from over the years.
One of the most overlooked aspects when scrapbooking yourself is to include photos of yourself with people who played important roles in your life.
Your best friend from childhood, a devoted roommate, your favorite uncle who always a shoulder for you to cry on, these special people hold a place in your heart and should hold a place in your scrapbook, too.
In a scrapbook like this I think journaling is almost essential. Since much of who we are is based on experiences we’ve had in our lives, it would be a nice way to reflect on your life by recounting bits of certain events or your thoughts on them, in words.
You don’t have to go into great detail and turn your scrapbook into an autobiography, but a few words here and there would make it much more intimate.
The key to making this scrapbook a success is to be true to yourself when putting it together. No matter what you liked, disliked, did or didn’t do, this scrapbook should be all about you.
And the best part about it is that it will give you a chance to reminisce while producing a keepsake you’ll cherish forever.
